1 cup finely chopped yam (suran)
1/2 cup chana dal (split bengal gram)
2 tsp oil
1/2 cup finely chopped onions
1/2 tsp ginger (adrak) paste
1 tsp garlic (lehsun) paste
1 tsp finely chopped green chillies
1/4 cup chopped mint leaves (phudina)
1 tbsp chaat masala
1/4 tsp garam masala

- For preparing the mixture for suran chana dal tikki, heat a broad non-stick pan, add the chana dal.
- Dry roast on a medium flame for 6 to 7 minutes or till they are light brown and aromatic.
- Remove from the flame, cool slightly and transfer to a mixer jar.
- Blend it in a mixer to a fine powder and keep aside.

- Add the onions.

- Add the prepared chana dal powder. It helps in binding together all the ingredients well.
- Add the mint leaves. Also, you can toss in some coriander leaves.
