A friend of mine asked me if I had tried labor cookies and I perked right up. No, but I like cookies. In fact with this baby, I CRAVED cookies! Particularly I craved any recipe with Oreos in it. Apparently several of my friends swear by this recipe and were happy to pass it along to me.

Why does the Labor Inducing Cookie Recipe work?

The recipe is a mix of several things that are known and speculated in jumpstarting labor.

Cinnamon – Cinnamon has been known to stimulate labor contractions and strengthen those you already have.

Ginger – The basis of these cookies is ginger. Ginger while mostly known for keeping nausea away in early pregnancy is known to help move the labor process along once it has started.

Cayenne Pepper – Everyone tells you to eat spicy food to induce labor. So adding in some cayenne pepper to the cookies give it the same effect. Try to fight the urge to eat this with milk!
